Spring Technology's client, a public sector organisation, are currently looking to recruit a Software Development Team Lead for an initial 6 month contract based in Edinburgh on a rate of c.£400-£460/day (inside of IR35).

Responsibilities:

* Leading and developing a team of up to 20 software applications developers, including Java and .Net developers and web and applications designers

* Application of proven technical expertise and applications development experience to design and manage digital solutions transformation initiatives, involving complex and multi-technology applications, factoring appropriate issues and risks, and responsibility for implementing innovative, scalable, manageable and secure digital application solutions

* Evaluate existing applications to determine technical changes, schedules projects, resources, contracts and monitor project timelines

* Overseeing the effective management of the software development lifecycle and the end to end project management delivery lifecycle, applying appropriate agile and other dynamic team management techniques to ensure your team works and delivers efficiently and effectively

* Leading and driving teams of digital solutions technologists, suppliers and engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes

* Contributing business and systems analysis to shape software systems requirements and processes

* Reporting and overseeing the delivery of ISD's applications development and delivery programme

* Maintain and develop standards, processes and best practice digital architecture and applications systems to ensure high quality deliverables to specified support service levels

* Represent ISD at meetings and workshops

Requirements:

* Strong track-record and demonstrable experience in successfully leading and managing a team of technical IT specialists to analyse, develop, deliver and support digital systems and technologies at an enterprise-wide level

* Proven levels of technical and delivery knowledge and skills for designing, implementing and supporting enterprise business and applications, including the information, data, and security and technology components

* Good technical understanding of enterprise web architecture

* Strong technical understanding of current web application development techniques, including some of the following: Angular.js, Vue.js, Spring MVC / Spring REST / Spring JPA, .Net Core Web API, .Net Core REST, .Net Entity Framework / OData, Ansible, Jenkins, Team City, Maven

* Advanced hands-on knowledge of developing and implementing enterprise digital application solutions using the Java programming language and/or Microsoft .NET (or other common software development enterprise products) to deliver enterprise application solutions accessing data stored in ORACLE/SQL Server databases

* Skills and knowledge of applying Agile or other appropriate software development management methodologies, and managing the deliverables to achieve successful project outcomes

* Experience of managing varied customers and stakeholders to deliver successful applications development project outcomes
