Software Developer - Contract - London - £650 - £700
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE: Software developer to join the Trading Technology team.
My client is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate software engineer to join an established development team responsible for trade life-cycle and market data technology to contribute to the growth of their new platform. The team interfaces with the firm's third party position keeping system, external trading venues and market data vendors. This includes sourcing a consistent set of daily market data across all the financial markets they trade. My clients team also looks after the straight through processing of trades done on electronic platforms and the development of the new blotter used by portfolio managers. Their tech stack is a mixture of C# and Java/Scala using open source libraries where possible with their latest projects built using Scala & Spring Boot for the back-end. The team works closely with end users to help solve business problems.
WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND:
Essential
*2+ years professional experience in C# and/or Java
*Comfortable working with large volumes of data, such as systems incorporating XML/JSON/YAML processing. Using and building web services
*Experience working with .NET Framework/Core (C#)
*Good degree in a technical discipline (eg. computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics)
*SQL Programming
Desirable
*JVM languages (e.g. Scala, Clojure, Kotlin)
*Knowledge of Bloomberg, Refinitiv (Thomson Reuters) market data APIs or other third party market data vendors
*Knowledge of market infrastructure / trade lifecycle
*Understanding of microservices infrastructure and container deployment and familiarity with cloud systems design and deployment
*Experience supporting production
