Role Summary:

The Embedded Systems (RDB) Engineer is responsible for the design, development and verification of elements required for Remote Interface Units within an integrated team environment. You will demonstrate independence and sound technical judgement to execute assignments, take an innovative approach to problem-solving and share technical knowledge with others in the team and across the organisation.

Key Activities:

In this role, the Embedded Systems (RDB) Engineer will find themselves working in some, or all, of the following activities dependent upon project need and individualskillset:

* Developing systems and software requirements, design, implementation, verification and integration (note, due to the current phase of the project, the majority of the work involves verification)

* All performed using sound engineering principles, adhering to business standards, practices, procedures and product / program requirements

Essential responsibilities:

The Embedded Systems (RDB) Engineer works within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

* With guidance from senior engineering resources, develop systems and software requirements, design, implementation, verification and integration using sound engineering principles, adhering to business standards, practices, procedures and product / program requirements

* Build an understanding of embedded systems architectures, implementations and their interfaces to system level functions and software designs.

* Share engineering information and promote open dialogue

* Document and communicate technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures

* Provide timely communications on issues and developments

* Work to D0178C aerospace standards

Qualifications / Requirements:

* Engineering / Science Degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent level of knowledge or experience

* Full Lifecycle experience (from Requirements through to Verification)

* Experience following detailed engineering processes and procedures

* Strong technical aptitude

* Strong oral and written communication skills

* Good problem solving and solution building skills

* Willingness and motivation to learn new processes and tools

* Proven proactive attitude to challenges

* Proven ability to work to timescales, achieve personal deadlines and contribute to team deadlines

* Methodical approach, including checking of own work and strong attention to detail

Desired characteristics:

* Experience developing safety critical software

* Experience of Embedded Software

* Experience using DOORS, Python, COTS TE

* Experience using emulators and performing integration activities

* Knowledge of DO-178B/C or similar design standards

* Demonstrable success achieving and exceeding internal and external milestones
