Role: Software Engineer - AvionicsDuration: 18 monthsRate: £48 - £52/hour My client are looking for an experience Software Engineer that can design and implement widget based graphical formats. a) Coming up with concepts that utilise graphics to convey information in an easily assimilated and intuitive way reducing pilot workload taking advantage of multiple interactive means (particularly touch)

b) Efficient ( in terms of minimising platform resources to achieve a required level of performance) implementation of ARINC 661 user applications Ideally experience of developing aircraft Cockpit Display system applications such as:

Primary Flight DisplaysFlight Mode AnnunciationCautions and WarningsChecklistsNavigation DisplaysRadio TuningSynopticsEngine Indicators

At a minimum someone who has used COTs graphics tools such as Adobe illustrator and Inkscape to design Graphical Human Interfaces. Familiarity with ARINC 661 Someone who has used VAPS or SCADE display or iData tools. Familiarity with ARINC 653 operating systemsEmbedded software design for high integrity using C or C++Rhapsody Familiarity with moving map applicationsFamiliarity with DO 178C
