More women surf for porn
Randy office workers have stimulated Britain enough for it to become the fastest growing market in the world for internet pornography, a new study reveals.
Obtained by OnRec, the recruitment website, the study claims the number of British men visiting sex sites, both in and out of the workplace, has risen by a record 7 million since the millennium.
Forty per cent of the male population accesses illicit content online, meaning 9 million men use adult websites according to the 2005 study by Nielsen/NetRatings.
The internet analysis firm showed that in the last month alone, 2.5 million men aged 25 to 49 have accessed porn – the equivalent of one in four among the age group.
But the probe found women to be the fastest growing users of erotic websites, given a 30 per cent increase in the numbers of female voyeurs in the last 12 months, taking the total to 1.5m.
Lawyers at Betesh Fox reportedly advise companies to adopt an internet policy which sets out the parameters of acceptable internet use.
A clear indication should also be given as to how breaches of the policy will be treated, the firm said.
