Photo site hosts uncensored images

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it," or view it – declares a new website that allows users to upload uncensored images for free.

Launched by BitTorrent's The Pirate Bay, the hosting service – BayImg.com - claims to be the first user-generated photo website without moderation or censorship.

"We believe in freedom of speech, it's of utter importance to us," the site says.

"As long as your pictures are legal they will be hosted here, but we reserve the right to remove images."

Interestingly, there is no definition on the site of what constitutes an "illegal" image, but some images will be taken offline due to "technical reasons."

It adds: "We will not remove any pictures that are just immoral or in any way legal to host under Swedish law."

Users do not have to register to upload the maximum of 100mb to the site, which is said to support 140 different file formats.

They also write a removal code for every image they upload, meaning images can be taken down after they are posted online.

Tags can be assigned to the subject matter of albums or pictures, allowing other users to navigate the library of images, which is currently approaching 50,000.
