VAT complaints 'will be shelved'
|
|
Complaints about delays to VAT registration will not be investigated until the registration process has been completed, HM Revenue & Customs has said.
The approach, which has been approved by the Adjudicator’s Office, will enable investigators to get a full picture of the situation, the Revenue said.
The tax authority added that this was the only instance in which it would wait until the process was complete, The Financial Times reported.
In other cases the complaint would be considered as soon as received, and a response will be issued within 10 working days.
