Quay Accounting has just been awarded the prestigious quality kitemark by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, the ACCA Quality Checked Seal. In order to achieve the ACCA Quality Checked Seal, Quay had to demonstrate, during a rigorous inspection by ACCA compliance officers, ‘best practice’ in all aspects of its accountancy business. The ACCA regulates and monitors thousands of accountants worldwide and the mark is awarded subject to meeting stringent regulations, only a handful of accountants nationwide can boast of this award to date. Andrew Harding, Executive Director – ACCA UK, said: “The award of ACCA’s kitemark is one way of assuring businesses and the public that they can have confidence in the services offered by accountancy firms. The standards we set are high and it is a major achievement for Quay Accounting to secure this award, which reflects well on the calibre of staff and the services it offers to its clients.” Quay is regulated by the two most respected accountancy bodies in the UK, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Both bodies undertake a wide range of professional activities including training, professional development and above all the maintenance of professional and ethical standards in the profession. Indeed membership is restricted to those who have successfully completed extensive approved training and passed the professional bodies examinations. The ICAEW are expected to launch a similar practice regulation standard in 2004 and Quay eagerly awaits an opportunity to achieve that award as well.
