Role: Multi-Skilled Engineering Technician Location: CardiffDuration: 6 monthsPay: £19 - £21/hour PAYE +14.4% shift increaseShifts: 6am - 2pm 2pm - 10pm

Job Description: Provide engineering support to all Manufacturing areas and the Production Engineering team to ensure the production facility is operating at optimum efficiency, producing excellent quality product by maintaining, repairing, improving plant, and manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:Reporting to the Maintenance team leader you will be responsible for ensuring the company safety policy, rules and procedures are understood and followed on all tasks and improvements.Perform risk assessments to ensure that all work undertaken is done safely and effectively.Interacts routinely with the Manufacturing team, QC, QA & Engineering department.Works with Production Engineers where necessary to develop procedures and equipment for new products and process improvements.Monitoring & improving equipment performance by analysing key KPI's, ensuring fault finding and root cause analysis is carried out in a timely manner to fix and eliminate repeated faults and keep down time to a minimum whilst ensuring all repairs are cost effective.Conduct routine planned maintenance as detailed by the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Assisting in the identification of critical control points on the equipment that can be inspected, whilst ensuring that these requirements are included in the maintenance schedules and updated where necessary.Work as part of a team while being able to use your own initiative to help solve re-occurring issues.Involvement in regular inspections/audits for good housekeeping/5SManage small improvement projects and ensure requirements are met with high quality.Open to self-development, actively monitoring and developing your own skills and competencies in line with business requirements.Communicate problems, solutions and options clearly and succinctly ensuring to inform all relevant people and utilise information from internal and external sources.Coach, develop and provide informal guidance by identifying regular maintenance tasks that can generally be done by others.Participate in new equipment acceptance tests (FAT/SAT) and validation protocols where required.Manage, organise and ensure production critical spares (GPM) are available.Flexible in pro-actively technically supporting other departments when priorities demand. (Looking at the big picture - where am I most needed).

Job Requirements:You will have undertaken a Recognised Apprenticeship and minimum of HNC/NVQ L3 or City & Guilds in a Mechanical/Electrical discipline.Ability to fault find on Electrical, Mechanical and Pneumatic machinery - (PLC interrogation and program modification an advantage).Good communication skills.Computer literacy to include MS word/MS Excel.Ability to analyse and interpret information and data from different sources and media.Technical knowledge of interpreting blueprints and equipment drawings.Experience in working in a cleanroom and an ISO certified facility.Machine shop practices.17th edition (desirable).
