    Which Broker for Contractor mortgages

    Hi All,

Just wanted the latest consensus on which specialist broker to use, should I go for one which is free or is it worth paying a fee? Have been reading up on this forum and it seems freelancer and AS are the favorites.. Is CCME any good, read they can be a bit slow when responding.

Also might be a silly question but can I speak to all and see which offer the best products or they do checks which affect my credit rating?

    Many thanks in advance
PS I've been contracting for the last year with just under 9 months until the end of my current contract and my other half a permie

I have used Freelancer Financials a number of times - Ryan - and he was awesome.

PM me if you need a direct number.

Sounds like you'll be best using your wife's income as the main factor in getting a mortgage, so long as she earns £25k+ for the best deals.

It's highly likely they will all offer the same products. There are a limited number of providers offering the contractor only options so am sure all three are plugged in to the right people.

I've just kicked off an application with Ken at Freelancer Financials for 1.69 percent fixed for two years offer. It has an arrangement fee and mortgage account fee which can be added to the mortgage bit it's still a pretty kick ads product.

This will be my 4th mortgage through Freelancer.

do they all charge a fee upon submitting an application to the lender, as just engaged with Contractor Mortgages and they seem to be charging circa £800

been a few years since i last took out a mortgage so can't remember if this was standard
