They are next business day if you do your transaction before 4pm. They arrive in the other bank account between 1-2pm in the afternoon if your bank has no issue with receiving FP. Some receiving banks delay receiving FP that are sent in the afternoon until the next day so they can earn some interest. All the banks that had proper issues receiving FP e.g. Nationwide were made to sort out their systems a few years ago.
Other than that, not much to gripe about but that'd be enough to move to metro if I didn't find my experience at the local branch a bit too slimey saleman-y.Comment

In my local Metrobank branch, sorry "store", I don't think anyone stays there for more than a year. I suspect as newer branches open they ask for a transfer or get a better job.
I've talked to some of their junior staff and nearly all of them are over qualified for the roles they do. They are degree qualified in decent subjects and went to Redbricks."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Been with Lloyds personally for decades and business-wise since I went contracting in 2007. Initially a free period and then a £5pm charge.
Currently charge me £5.50 per month but has never missed a beat, and what is £5.50 to a contractor.Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.Comment

Don't use Cater Allen, they sound dreadful! No faster payments, no app...
I use Natwest, they're good. About to jump ship to Yorkshire Bank for the free banking unless anyone thinks that's a bad idea?⭐️ Gold Star ContractorComment

So Metro is only free if you keep a £5000+ balance. Otherwise it's £5.
That's £5000 that could be earning £4.54 in Aldermore while you use a free bank.⭐️ Gold Star ContractorComment
