which firm to use for a Contract Review

    Hi

I have just been offered a new six contract, any suggestions as to who I should use to review it and why?

So far I have had all my contractors review by one firm, sometimes I think its a wise idea to have another look around. I have tried talking to a different firm, but after 5 mins waiting on the phone and not being able to get passed the music playing dalek, I am not impressed.

Both firms are well known within the contracting circles

+1 to the above. If you've got policies with QDOS they do contract checks for free.

Why? Because you are not a contract or IR35 specialist.

Why not name and shame the one keeping you hanging on the phone?

Naming and shaming a company for being held on the phone for 5 minutes? Really?

Not full reviews though, it's just the pass or fail nod isn't it?

I've used both QDOS and B&C and value the service they both provide.

Perhaps illustrating the complexities of IR35, as an observation it appears that even the experts cannot agree on an IR35 contract status at times whereby I've had a case of one opining inside IR35, the other outside for the same contract with the same details provided to each. It then becomes a personal judgement call as to whether you are proceed or not.

Yes, why not? They are obviously under staffed or not bothered with new business. Says a lot about their attitude to new customers. Would you expect an agent offering you a new contract to sit on hold for 5 mins listening to muzac?

Hardly obviously. If I named and shamed every company I spent 5 mins on the phone to I wouldn't have enough time to be able to give any high quality, factually correct and well presented advice to posters on here.
