Yeah, thing is I'm pretty experienced. I am privileged to have landed a new role a few days later. However I'm not one for "staying silent" when it comes to this type of unethical behaviour.
The part I missed out is I have legal insurance and a claim has been accepted under contract breach so it's just now a case of seeing what happens.
You still haven’t answered the question. What do you hope to gain?Comment

so....
Wow, this is not the community for me. i'll close this.
The difference between employment and contractor is something you should know and is absolutely pivotal to your situation so why flounce when it's pointed out?
TBH you've had it pretty easy so far. We are all hard nosed contractors selling ourselves to the highest bidder. What's wrong with straight, cold hard facts?
Then there is the fact it's an anonymous internet forum which comes with it's own set of nuances and problems.
Getting upset and leaving at the first straight comment is hardly a good start.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!Comment
