Experian Screwed up my Credit Rating

I got a credit card application knocked back recently. So I paid the £14.99 to Experian to get my credit report.

According to them, I'm not on the electoral roll.

I am - I registered when I moved in 2017 and I've just got my polling card for the local elections. Even the council have confirmed I'm on it.

So, I've followed the approved route and registered a complaint with Experian. After a week I finally get a response in garbled English asking for exactly the same information I gave them in my original complaint.

Anyone else had issues with Experian? Is there any way of expediting the process and avoid their offshore team? I'm about to make a mortgage application & I reckon my current rating will get me knocked back again.

This doesn’t answer your question, but you can get your credit report for free (and the updates to it once a month) through either the MSE Credit Club, or through Noddle.

I would ask the same question on Twitter, including Experian's @ handle.

I believe that they are quite hot on there.

Have you looked on any other credit report sites? Your credit card application may not have even involved Experian.
