    Accounting for a VPN service?

Any suggestions for the accounting category to use for the purchase of a VPN service?

    Computer Software?
    Other Computer Costs?
    Subscriptions?

    :confused

Just pick anyone. It matters not.

You can always correct it when you mention it in passing next time you speak to your accountant.

Yeah, I came to the same conclusion and I'll be going with Subscriptions for the time being.

If OP ever works on public WiFi and has a requirement to ensure the secure transmission of client data then that would surely suffice, even if there is incidental private use of said service.

I would put it in the books as software.

And how often, in the modern day, would the application not be encrypted anyway?
