I opened an Investec High 5 account and have been well impressed with the level of service. Although it's variable (currently 4.6%) it is guaranteed to be competitive. Minimum balance £25k and 3 months notice.

Zopa are not covered by the FSA. If Zopa go kaput, so does all your money.

Try Cater Allen. At least, they were the best when I was in your situation 4 months ago.
