    Recommendations for a good accountant

    Hi all,

Apologies for not being there for the long haul but I've decided to strategically withdraw from this particular conflict with Hector.

That said, I'm wary of just phoning up Hector and asking them what the best way to handle this is, for all of the obvious reasons.

Can anyone recommend a good accountant who can help me confirm the amounts owed and act as a go between to get this sorted out with the minimum of pain?

To all those who are staying the course, I wish you the best of luck.

just got my letter from revenue!

almost has the feel of a child gloating at us ! Would also question their statement that the coa appeal is now final - surely its only final if an appeal isnt made to echr?

their quotes from the supreme court (I'm assuming are correct!) - however are quite depressing - seems like it wasnt even a difficult decision for the judges - statements like "plainly right" and "application so obvious".

      bugg3r!!

Unfortunately, the Supreme Court refused our's and PwC's applications to appeal.

We are now waiting for a circular from Montpelier to update us on where we go from here. They have assured me that this is coming but I don't know when.

I spoke to this chap once on an un-related matter:
HMRC Tax Investigation - Tax Enquiry Advice COP9 etc Specialist
He was very helpful and knowledgeable.

              A very interesting gentleman indeed.

Perhaps a group approach (from a cost savings point of view) may be in order if we fail via the next proposed method

                I'm in.

One of us could even bring his website design into this millenium (content is great though)

                  Especially this bit:

"You will find that I will never be judgemental and will work with you to
get the best possible result within the law"

Think I heard that one somewhere before....
