FF tend to receive their new clients from recruiter referrals rather than here on the forums.

We know the FF guys quite well, nice chaps. Wouldn't be professional to say anything either way but would suggest you check out their fee structure.
Thanks for your speedy response. No, I wasn't quoted any prices and it's perhaps significant that there's no mention of costs anywhere on their website.
I'm also not comfortable with their reliance on Agency referrals and their total absence from any contractor website (this one, contractorweekly.com, contractrecruit.co.uk, contractoralliance.co.uk ...)

    Thanks again

I really wish there was a company number on the website, and a RO address.

Quick search on the company name at Companies House brings up the details.

          Hi

I looking a good accountant who can proactively advise on expenses and be claiming?
          I am self-employed.

I have change 3 accountants I have had have been not been great with very poor knowledge.
it seems I paying for quarterly vat, payee calculation and Corporation tax. Most of them claim to help at the start and after that dont do anything and advise is also rubbish.

One initially helped during the joining did help proactively and advise and calculated what I can claim for home office use and how I should purchase equipment and what equipment allowed and amount so that VAT can be claimed.

I would appreciate like to hear from people who have good accountant who can advise on things that can be claimed
          1) keep tab on change on law and advise proactively how it impact me and if I am not claiming any thing how can I claim within the remit of HRMC rules.
          2) Actually look at the expense sheet and advise if something is wrong or something that can be claimed as per HRMC rules

Currently, at present, I claim only my travel, subsistence and home office use.

I would love to hear from people who have good accountant that I can use.

          Regards

Dynamo accountancy - site not secure?

                Hi,

I'm in the process of choosing an account after deciding to start contracting and set up my ltd company.
I was about to go for Dynamo Accountancy when I realised that the web page requesting personal information (National Insurance number, etc) was not secure!
That put me right off and I didn't submit the information requested.

Is the rest of the site (for day-to-day running of the business) also insecure?

If anyone from Dynamo Accountancy is reading this, do you think it's acceptable to request personal information in a non-secure manner?

So now I'm back to square one. Does anyone have a recommendation for an accountant that provided a good service to you and is also knowledgeable about IR35?

                Regards

Hi, remainder of the site doesn't ask for personal data, just the login which directs straight to Freeagent. We're currently revamping the online sign up process at the moment, thanks for pointing that out, our techies our on it.

All contractor specialist accountants would normally include IR35 reviews within their monthly accountancy package. You can always call the firms you have shortlisted to get a feel of their service and ask to email your personal information across as the accounting engagement would be maintained through emails and telephone conversations so the sign up process on the website is just a selling technique, most accountants would anyway ask you to sign a formal engagement letter online.

                      2 directors / employees

                      Hi guys,
new to the forum... great info so thanks in advance.

I've read the post and reviewed most of those recommended by those with 'street cred' on this forum and have the following question.

Do all of these accounting packages cover 2 directors or do they need to specifically state that in the info pages? I will call those that interest me but thought others may be able to recommend from 1st hand use.

                      Front runners are:
1st Online and Gorilla at this stage. Also interested in BI.

                      Cheers
