Doesn't the PCG accreditation mean that they've been on a course run by the PCG?
IIRC, my accountant (person) was PCG accredited when they worked somewhere else. Because she has moved to another firm, she / they don't have the accreditation any more

Use the fine search facility and find out who he is.
The only reason to use a PCG accredited accountant is so they don't come out with bulltulip on how you should run your company as they understand how contractors work.
However there are other accountants in the country who are fine.

As to why, they will have done a detailed training course on a whole range of subjects relevant to us, including IR35, so will uinderstand your business and be able to give informed advice.
