It's a brilliant website isn't it. It is not near-realtime is IS realtime (for the yellow planes in Europe), and 5-minutes delayed for orange US planes.

Where are you based? Poyle or Slough, or further into London?

No it's near real time as there is about a 10-20 second delay between the plane flying over and the map showing the plane at my position.
