Has the world gone completely and utterly mad?

    Main story in today's Telegraph:

Heatwave warning: health experts tell Britons to stay indoors
It's just embarrassing. Gawd knows what all my overseas colleagues think.

And as for the Telegraph, I don't know why I bother. It's just a mouthpiece for that fool Cameron and the wet fish who follow him.

I genuinely find myself looking more at the Grauniad and Independent for content with a bit of gravitas.

Who exactly are these "health experts"? Sounds like a few people who can be sacked.

So what's the 2nd news item in the independent? "Stay out of the sun, experts urge as temperatures top Barbados on hottest day "

Actually it's pretty cloudy here. I think the entire weather is an invention.

Makes no sense... it's the southerners who are used to the warmer weather, but allergic to frost.

I'm in Berlin today and it's knocking on the door of the 30's. No biggy.

And I read somewhere (probably the BBC, cos it was a muslim story) that Muslims observing Ramadam were at risk due to the heat. FFS most of them come from countries with temperatures far hotter than the UK can ever muster, so I should think they are the last people who need a lesson on avoiding heat stroke).

Since when are we out of the mess?

But in those countries, don't they typically hide inside during such times - like they do in Dubai? Running around in the sun in 30-degree-weather could be worse than sitting quietly in the shade in 50-degree-weather?

we are not - and someone will always argue that we never will be but our economy is growing faster than just about any other EU country and jobs are being created - especially in IT
