If they had bad breath had dubious dress sense and did not look people in the eye when they are communicating I would encourage them wholeheartedly to work in IT
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

And if they couldn't make the grade as estate agents or used car salesmen then never fear there is always a job as a recruitment 'professional' waiting for them (once they have completed the obligatory 6 months training flogging mobiles at CarPhone warehouse of course)

BackTheMAC is an independent campaign to press the UK Government to accept its own advisors recommendations from the Migration Advisory Committee, that tax deductible business expenses should be excluded from the UKBA 'Salary Package' definition. Their inclusion leads to a significant loss of tax revenue and puts resident workers and companies at a disadvantage to cheaper migrant workers who are 'on shored' into the UK from outside of the EU .
              Why are you asking?

still plenty of good jobs for talented candidates.

But so few entry level jobs.

I've actively discouraged my youngest son from IT as a career.

It's got no real future in the face of the Bobs in the software and service space and hardware stopped being anything more than box swapping long ago.
