The short arm of the law

BBC News - Kings Langley 'douchebag' bike thief ignores angry note from victim

He told the thief he was on CCTV and the bike was fitted with a tracker.

However, the tracker failed and police told him the CCTV would not come through for a month, Mr Rush said.

surprised they didn't arrest him for offending the thief or similar.

Not long ago it was renamed to Kings Landing for a while for a Game Of Thrones publicity stunt

It's not a bad area normally
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

At least the police are viewing the CCTV,

My car got keyed in the NCP at my current gig, it was parked right in front of the CCTV camera however the police wouldn't view the footage as the period in which the damage happened was longer than 4hrs (ie sometime between 8am and 5pm) and NCP wouldn't view it either for the same reason and they wouldn't release the footage to me to view either tossers!!

The police are probably wasting their time.

Cases like that are often not prosecuted by the CPS if the guy doesn't admit it and there are no other witnesses.

If the guy had bothered to go after his bike when the tracker was working and found the guy with it then the CPS would have no choice unless they wanted to be sued.

I did think it was silly to tell the thief there was a tracker fitted, therefore giving him the chance to remove it or dump the bike in a river.
