Report claims AMD defections

IT'S UNLIKELY that there will be any chip or chipset development at Intel India, in the near future, a report in the Times of India said.
It claims that Intel has around 3,000 employees in India but that number will be cut to 2,000. The same report also claims staff who worked on the ill-fated "Whitefield" have defected to AMD.
We asked Intel about chip development ceasing in India earlier this week. A representative said that such a situation was likely.
Whitefield is one of the burgeoning hi-tech developments in Bangalore. Intel has three sites in the city - AMD has several offices based there too

Very interesting development - previously job cuts in the West were often augmented with extra hiring in Asia. Looks like they are firing people who were responsible for failed "Whitefield" project.
