It's just a silly phase I'm going through

I'm not in love, oh no
but I like them a lot at the moment

    mussells obviously.
I started off on the jar with them in brine, then I started on the tins in olive oil, then tins in tomato spicy sauce
now I am on the hard stuff. tins with sunflower oil

I do about one tin a day, for me brekky like.

I tried sardines in curry last week, but they were not in the same league, in my honest opinion

I seem to remember a friend of mine doing an environemntal sciences degree back in the 1980s telling me not to eat mussels as their ability to absorb pollutants made them an invaluable indicator species. Seems like this is still the case (Mussel Watch Program - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

Farmed ones are probably OK as their water will be filtered, but I'd avoid wild ones

I too love mussels. Favourite way is Cozze a zuppa. Basically your spicy tomato sauce, preferbly home made and dunked with homemade ciabatta. I virtually lived on that for 4 months during a 4 month tour in southern Italy.
