Salmond stands down as Westminster reneges

Good call by him he has done his job well.

Cameron already sliming out of the "Vow" and Miliband not supporting it now. Hope No voters fell like the fools they are. If they renege on this it should trigger another ref.

He'll be able to retire on a nice big fat pension pot now, backed by Sterling and the English banks

      how has Cameron reneged?

He is trying to solve the West Lothian question and review the Barnett Formula. But he is also trying to give more powers across the UK. Do you not think that is reasonable or should we just shuffle cash towards Scotland to keep you quiet?

"The three pro-union parties have made commitments, clear commitments, on further powers for the Scottish Parliament.

"We will ensure that they are honoured in full.

"And I can announce today that Lord Smith of Kelvin - who so successfully led Glasgow's Commonwealth Games - has agreed to oversee the process to take forward the devolution commitments with powers over tax, spending and welfare all agreed by November and draft legislation published by January.

"Just as the people of Scotland will have more power over their affairs, so it follows that the people of England, Wales and Northern Ireland must have a bigger say over theirs.
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

So the fat tw@ has gone. Good. If he'd been a bit more honest who knows what might have happened. He was a typical politician, no better than the rest.

Anyway looking forward, if they renege on their pledge then we'll be back here within 10 years. They won't because the Tories can see a way of getting permanent control over English affairs.

The big losers here are Labour. If they stand in the way of further devolution they'll lose seats in Scotland.

Britain is about to change, hopefully for the better.

It probably would, that is why they won't.

Well Cameron has already started slipping and Miliband is not going to support Cameron's version so it will all get bogged down and the timetable will be reneged on.

Quitter. One little setback and he just gives up.
