Hold my hands up - couldn't help being rude to agent

We have previously discussed how to be polite to agents even when they are blatantly fishing without a single role. But honestly who could handle what this agent said to me?

He calls me up asking the usual details and I was courteous and gave him proper answers. Rate, current role, experience etc.

Then he start talking to me about some talent pack that they are putting together for all contractors which is "essential" for all "their" contractors. I would need to spend 2 hours doing some tests and another hour or so completing questions and a questionnaire.

At that point I broke and just said to him: "I am getting offered roles a plenty and have lots of contacts, I'm not in the need of a talent pack and it's you the agency who should be working to sell my skills!"

wtf is a talent pack gonna do for me or anybody else for christ's sake!

Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

It might be worth it if it constitutes various ways of telling time wasters to bog off.

I had a new one last week from the Agency Ministry of crap ideas -

"Before we present your cv to the client we will need personal references for the past 10 years"

          "Why"

"Because it will make your application stand more chance of securing an interview"

"Presumably you have reviewed my cv and it will have told you that would involve hassling around a dozen or so busy people before even an offer is actually on the table?"

          "Well its our new policy"

"Ironically its my Ltd Companies policy to tell plonkers like you to bog off and stop wasting my time on wild goose chases. Um... Bog Off"
