    Bring back confinement

BBC News - 'Stronger warnings needed' over pregnant women drinking

The old ideas are always the best. Take weening. Once it was 9M. Then 6M. Then 4M. Then 3M. Then 4M. Now it is 6M. One day it will be 9M again.

Noise in pregnancy, combined with genetic pre-disposition, causes autism.

Apologies in advance to the women on here who did not realise women have periods and are now discovering that the Stork does not bring babies.

As a child born in the 70's I am pretty sure my mum smoked and drank throughout my term - although probably never to excess.....

I seem to be pretty ok........

I'm actually seeing more pregnant women - pretty conservative types too - become slightly relaxed in this regard. Previously you'd see them be absolutely flat out against any alcohol for the whole 9 months, but recently several have decided that a glass of wine with dinner every now and then is fine, especially in the later stages of pregnancy. Although I approve, I'm rather surprised.

Less than 50% of women take the flu immunisation when pregnant despite it being offered to them all with medical advice that they do so.

Health promotion in this country really is terrible.
