Wheelchairs or pushchairs: Who should take priority?

BBC News - Wheelchairs or pushchairs: Who should take priority?

Women with babies seem to think they can do what they want when they want. Whether it is stopping disabled people getting on the bus. Or driving their massive 4WD on the school run in such a way as to intimidate other mothers walking their children to school.

The spaces were put on buses for wheelchairs.

I wish it was legal in situations like this for the bus driver to call the police to get the woman escorted off. A few cases like this would resolve the issue.

Not all women with buggies are that selfish but a good number are. They won't put down their buggies to allow another one on the bus even when the bus isn't full and there are old women around who are willing to help them. No one would consider an old woman threatening.

Men with babies and small children can be just as bad. Which is funny because nearly everyone goes out of their way to help you if you have a baby or young children with you.

Part of the problem is the size of the pushchairs. When ours were young, we just folded it up, and put it in the luggage rack (the pushchair, not the children). Somehow we didn't feel our rights were being contravened, or indeed in any way inconvenienced.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

Owning a car should be a pre-requisite to breeding.

In this case the mother said she did not want to wake up the baby. Which is probably as most babies sleep very soundly after the first 20 minutes.

It is alot easier with 2 adults though.....

Not practical if you want to go into Central London.

The space wouldn't be there if wheelchair users hadn't campaigned for it.

From canary wharf to Putney the majority of vehicles are the Chelsea tractors packed full of the little darlings.
