    Zero Zero Society

Catch phrase, or a real problem in our society?

    (1) Yes I know that Zero hours contracts can be a PITA
    (2) But I highly doubt there are more than a handful of rich who pay Zero tax

    I call it B.S.

Don't the top 5% of rich people in this country contribute about 25% of the total tax take?

not for long if Red Ed gets in.

Many of them will turn to avoidance quite legally.

It's utter mendacious rubbish intended to stir up anger, resentment and possibly hatred amongst the uninformed.

I’m on a zero hours contract and love it; I’m also in the top 10% of earners (as are a large proportion of contractors) and happily pay loads of tax.

Ed Moribund and Co. would prefer people like us didn’t exist because we don’t fit their model of the nasty money grabbing, poor hating, Sherif of Nottingham, zero tax paying, down south living, evil scum b*stards that won’t kowtow to their authoritarian society ideal.

There are millions that pay zero tax*, but you wouldn't call them rich.

*Not counting VAT, import duty, road tax, telly tax, beer tax, airport tax, etc. etc.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Are you being deliberately obtuse, or do you not work through a Ltd which pays you a fixed salary?
Comparing a contractor to someone stacking shelves in Tesco has to be trolling, right?

Anyway, I think the zero-hours culture is a problem but I'm not sure about the zero tax side of things; I'm sure there are people getting away with murder but that it's not ubiquitous.
