IT technicians getting younger these days

BBC News - Five-year-old passes Microsoft exam

A boy from Coventry has become the youngest computer specialist in the world.

Ayan Qureshi is now a Microsoft Certified Professional after passing the tech giant's exam when he was just five years old.
Doesn't say which exam, but most five year olds wouldn't be able to read the questions.

I'm normally very impressed and supportive of this kind of thing, but I've met a number of supposedly Microsoft qualified people who have given me the impression that being able to breathe without being prompted is the only requirement.

          He's 5.

          He can read.

          And he's probably bilingual.

What exactly is involved in passing this exam.

I note that he set up a network in his own house?

"The hardest challenge was explaining the language of the test to a five-year-old" said his dad.

So his dad was reading him the questions. OK then.

Don't know which exam it is.

Here's a typical exam Microsoft certifications - Practice tests

The standard way of passing these is to find the questions on a braindump site and learn the answers to all the possible questions. But even if he did go with that approach, it's still pretty good going for a wee boy.

No, he would have gone into the exam room on his own. I guess the dad coached him.

"When the boy arrived to take the Microsoft exam, the invigilators were concerned that he was too young to be a candidate.

His father reassured them that Ayan would be all right on his own."
