      Flipping heck.

The first was just tragic and misfortunate.

Heart missed a beat when I read that this morning as Bacchus minimus is currently flying back from Phuket; admittedly going in the other direction but in the same vicinity.

Watching his progress closely on flightradar now! They have just left Afghanistan and will skirt North of Iran, Iraq, and Syria… nice friendly airspace then!

Sounds like this plane, and possibly the previous one, strayed too close to a US carrier group, specifically within its 60 mile exclusion zone, and was simply shot down.

Or maybe it's something to do with all the thunderstorms in its immediate vicinity at the time it disappeared?
