BBC News - The men of steel with a softer side

I never knew any of that. Very interesting, especially since in our field they generally are not well thought of at all!

If they grow it and pick it they may as well pack it and sell it.
I'm not even an atheist so much as I am an antitheist; I not only maintain that all religions are versions of the same untruth, but I hold that the influence of churches, and the effect of religious belief, is positively harmful. [Christopher Hitchens]

It's not really underlined, but the first breakthrough was selling opium (which was legal at the time) and the second was selling steel to aid WWI effort.

So now you're saying Yorkshire Tea isn't from Yorkshire? Does that mean Cheshire cheese doesn't come from Cheshire then?

I believe that we Brits acquired the habit and taste for the wonderful brew from the Portuguese. They still drink loads of the stuff and have some nice varieties.

Interesting article btw, cheers for pointing it out.
