How much do the 10 hottest IT skills pay?

This has just been posted up on the CUK site; what do we think?

Contractors' Questions: How much do the 10 hottest IT skills pay?

As you can probably tell by my name I'm #1 on that list, I'd say that rate is about right, though I know depending on skillset (notably JavaScript libraries e.g. Angular) you can go another £100 or so higher.

So the hottest IT skills pay about the same as a self employed boiler engineer or brick layer.

    Whoopie do!

      But require considerably less effort.

There are also a few roles missing off that list that pay more. Most of them involve the word Architect.

No Bricklayer gets that much unless they are building a sky scraper in Dubai.

Do you know anything about construction in Dubai ?

They are cheap labour from India/Pakistan/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka who get less than £20 a day

They are listed in no particular order.

I realise the list is in no particular order, I was just pointing out that I am a Web Developer which happens to be in the first position.

As for Bricklayers, I know a few, and they're on more like £250 a day. As for Bricklayers in Dubai, Qatar etc, yes many of them are on a pittance and have little training.

I thought that the list was interesting, that's all. I also wondered if many of you on here feel that the rates given are about right, or wildly off what they should be?

The dev one is £80 per day less than I was getting in my last gig in Fleet and £130 less than I was getting the gig before that in London.

That's why it says average, it will also mean that some people are on less than that
