Why are people paranoid on this board about Sockies?

I am a new user yet just been accused of being a 'sockie' quite amusing to be fair, but looking at some of the posts, there is a lot of accusations of this.

Is it common place ?

Yeah, sure, never seen that before, common practice amongst the sock drawer residents and the Aussielong habitual often banned ones for that matter.
