    Solar Power Eclipse Test.

    Hadn't considered this.

So all we need is a lovely windless sunny morn.

For dear old Freako, this refers to the upcoming solar eclipse on Friday.

If only there was a way of predicting these things in advance...
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

run up a coal or gas station for 10 minutes.

its hardly a challenge. They would have a similar problem if it was foggy.

      this impressed me

The country hardest hit by the brief plunge into darkness is likely to be Germany, which has a solar power capacity of 40,000 MW and where 18 percent of electricity consumption last year came from solar power.
yet again the Germans get it right.

        Aye.

Just so long as they can avoid annexing the Sudetenland or invading Poland, we should be fine.

but as they know when it will occur it should be able to cover the shortfall, normally to cover increased demand peaks generators use stored hydro which costs a little bit more than coal but it is nearly instantaneous.

We can leave the annexing to Putin.
