The Life and Times of AlfredJPruffock

Scene One Welcome back my Friends to the Show that Never Ends

Let us go then, you and I
When the evening is spread out against the sky
    Like a patient etherized upon a table;

Let us go, through certain half-deserted streets,

The muttering retreats with forgotten contractors
Tearing their worthless unsigned Tearstained Timesheets
Of restless nights in one-night cheap hotels

So I know its been a wee while - now then - where was I - oh yes !

I think back in the winter snow of 2012 - yes that's about right - I was out of luck and out of contract alone in a perishing cold hovel by the sea in Noordwijk Netherlands - just completed a three year contract with the European Space Agency (ESTEC) via Contracting Company X - it was the best of times and the worst of times ..

Now - where to begin ?

The White Rabbit put on his spectacles. “Where shall I begin, please your Majesty?” he asked.

“Begin at the beginning,” the King said very gravely, “and go on till you come to the end: then stop.”

And you know what - I think best to do what the King said .... hold on a wee minute - hmm new teeth - that's weird !!!

    Grey brick upon brick,
    Declamatory bronze
    On somber pedestals -
    O'Connell, Grattan, Moore -
And the brewery tugs and the swans
    On the balustraded stream
And the bare bones of a fanlight
    Over a hungry door
And the air soft on the cheek
And porter running from the taps
With a head of yellow cream
    And Nelson on his pillar
    Watching his world collapse.

          Nothing but Flowers ...

Where I happened to live in Holland whilst on contract with the European Space Agency (ESTEC) was in the middle of the Bulb Growing area - now I know there are some tulip lovers on this site - so this is just for you (taken by Alf 2010 Noordwijk Holland) .
I took this with an IPhone4 -I didn't use Photoshop - it just turned out to be quite a pretty picture - well I hope you like it.

PS After this though I shall tell you the most remarkable story - when Alf met the God of Science ...
