Current client manager often catches same train as me. Hes nice enough fella but I'd much rather kip on the train than talk about work.

He probably doesnt want to speak to me either!

Etiquette:-

1. Hide, pretend you dont see them and get on other end of train.
2. Sit by them and then pretend to be asleep.
3. Sit by and make conversation.

p.s. Those of you with no sense of humour please note - this is not a serious thread which is why its in general. Know what some of you are like!

But only half the trains on the route have first class (depends on the time of the train - two TOCs service the route) so I aint paying for it.

And Im too tight anyway.

Mine currently isn't a client manager, just a permie.
I also used to share a train with a contractor I hated.

In all cases, avoid eye contact, wear your headphones and/or (pretend to) sleep on the train.

I make sure I leg it out of the door 5 minutes before the permie here, just so I don't feel any obligation to walk and talk with her on the way to the station. There's another contractor here who I get on with and have worked with before - I'm quite happy to walk to the station with him, so I'm not completely sociopathic.

Went 1st class the other day & found myself having to stand in the inter carriage area because there were no seats left

I'm pushing for a refund for the difference between a 1st class & standard class ticket.
