    Where to stash the cash

I've got this mate that is getting his house in order financially. Funnily enough he is a contractor as well, and also has a wife and four kids.

He is liquidising his assets and will have a pile of cash and was asking me in the pub what to do with it.

As we chatted we came to the realisation that the good old days of just putting it in a savings account are gone, what with low interest rates and that.

So I suggested he invest (part of it). I was thinking of an investment ISA, and some good dividend yielding shares with long established track record.

What do the panel do for long term financial planning with their wedge?
Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.

He just sold his BTL hence the pile of cash. Too much hassle with tenants. It just wasn't for him.

Here's a list of long established companies with excellent dividend yield record. You cannot lose!:

        Woolworths
        Marconi
        HMV
        Railtrack
        Maxwell Corporation
        PollyPeck
        Ferranti
        Dalgety
        Trafalgar House
        Sears
        ....

He wants a BTL. I've just put in offers for two more.

He didn't take advice from you did he?

Depends on how big the stash is. Are we talking hundreds of thousands? or some tens of thousands?

              HTH

Ok. BTW, don't you have an "agency" that manages the property? Do you try and let it yourself?

Is this yet another pointless Suity conversation?

drip feed thread of utter bollox.
