Coming over here and taking our Electricity

National Grid's new designer pylon is 'too white and boring'

    https://regmedia.co.uk/2015/04/10/t_pylon.jpg

so ladies & gents do these erections get you going? Will MS try to weigh them?
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

They clearly do not tick enough "diversity" boxes!
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

They look pretty good to me - much better than the horrible grey lattice towers IMHO. I prefer the white painted version, although the weathering steel variety might look better in certain areas. I am thinking the look might be improved by pointing the two arms upwards a bit... would look more like someone giving the peace (or that other) sign.

Still going to get cancer if you spend a lot of time near one tho

This has been a very busy month on the pylon front. As well as making it onto the BBC website (Meet the Pylon Spotters) along with Flash who runs the Pylon Appreciation Society, I have done several interviews on local BBC radio stations about pylons. The reason for this is that the six new T pylons (which I talked about back in November 2011) have been at installed at the National Grid training centre in Nottinghamshire and for a couple of days the UK went pylon mad, setting a new daily record of 4265 hits on Pylon of the Month.

I could have let all this publicity go to my head, but after considering featuring the new T pylon for April I have decided to stay true to the many fans who have sent in pylon pictures.

I see where suity spends his time when not on CUK...

Pylon of the Month has been around the longest. I first came across it around 1998, and it had already been going for a year or so then

(He didn't have the domain then, it was on some ISP's free webspace, like Demon or Pipex or some such.)

I remember reading about the Norwegians.
they were getting fed up with boring pylons, so they put out a tender for interesting designs
I don't recall if anything came of it

Sure you're not thinking of the Icelanders? They had a competition that attracted some really good entries: Human pylons carry electricity across Iceland (Wired UK)
