    Next Falklands war

There's a rumour going round that Russia is going to give Argentina lots of very long range and advanced weapons in exchange for food and other commodities as it feels the EU sanctions bite.

    You heard it here first.

I doubt it. That would be a repeat of the Cuban missile crisis.

Sounds like scaremongering from our military to get more tax payers money.

The UK isn't in a position to send another fleet down there. For a start we have 1 aircraft carrier almost ready but no planes to go on it.

Troops are down to 80,000 or so (SNP membership is now 115,000 )

We can't even defend our own coastline as the government have closed down airfields in the north east of Scotland and we don't have any boats up there either. When a Russian ship was reported just outside of Scottish waters it took a Royal Navy boat 2 days to get to it from Plymouth.

Another reason to scrap £100Bn on a Trident system that can't be used and put some of the money into conventional forces that defend us as an island. Stop wasting money on illegal wars and occupations where we have no right to be.

Apart from that, Las Malvinas should be given back to Argentina on condition that the residents can retain their UK passports and other rights.

Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

Argentina is not going to attack British territory. Democracies never invade each other.

Unless Argentina becomes a dictatorship again...

I agree with you though I think the chance of giving up the Falklands is zero when there is a possibility of oil being found. Plus you still have people who get all patriotic and think with their hearts and would be happy for us to lose money and lives over a small island.
