Friday Poetry Corner - Hymn 143 "How the Angels Come"

...And Now we'd like to sing "How the Angels Come "

    Hymn 143

    Our Father High in Heaven
    Smile down upon your son.
Who's busy with his Money games - his Woman and his Gun.

And the unsung Western hero, killed an Indian or Three
And then he made his name in Hollywood
    To set Us All free.

If Jesus Saves-well, He'd better save Himself
From the Gory Glory seekers who use His name in death.

He is the God of everything- he is inside you and me
He is the God of Nothing - if that's all you can see

While the Bloody Church of England
    Lies in Chains of History
    - Requests your Earthly presence
    In the Vicarage for Tea

Well, I saw Him in the City and on the Mountains of the Moon -
His Cross was rather bloody -
He could hardly roll His stone.

He is the God of everything- he is inside you and me
He is the God of Nothing - if that's all you can see

Composed by the Rev Ian Anderson of the Jethro Tull Ecunemical Society
