Being rich doesn't mean you can't have a left leaning political stance.

I really do wonder why CMD & co don't just flip this back at them when they start on the mud slinging.

we all know they are filthy rich.

I am afraid it makes them hypocrites because the whole way they present their ideology is to redistribute wealth under the control of the state. Creating wealth involves stretching the rules of capitalism to their limits whether it be Margaret Hodge or the Miliband brothers on going about organising their tax affairs, the aggressive exploitation of markets or filling their boots on EU and UK government gravy trains.

They all bleat on about the poor and the NHS and the public services yet none of them give a toss about whether the public services actually work for the benefit of those that use them.

The wealthy are "left leaning" simply because they want to be seen as kind and generous. In reality they are nothing of the sort.

They are not Socialists they are statists. Wealth and privilege give them access to power and from there the ability to boss us around.

Meanwhile the hypocrites of the right have been caught giving substantial portions of their wealth to charity and helping folk out. Bastards.

If you attack your opponents because they are rich and privileged you can't really be that yourself, hence 'champagne socialist'.

As mentioned before much of what we now regard as the NHS was at the gift of rich capitalists who wanted to give back. Any one of these rich lefties could start charitable organisations but most of them seem to do so to avoid tax ask phoney tony?

Not at all surprising of course.

Nor is the rampant hypocrisy of them attacking the Tories for having some who are wealthy. For that matter at least the Tories are honest about being pro wealth (at least in theory).
