It really is a sitcom.

The World Cup will be in Russia in 2018.

However Qatar.....Am sure it was all very legitimate but strange a country that has never qualified, that is too hot for the summer, that doesnt allow gay people, where you cant drink alcohol, that has little existing infrastructure ..... wins the rights to host.

Football. WGAF?

At least the people that run Formula One are above reproach.

I too think it's too late for the 2018 World Cup - however...

Sanctions, a further slap in Putin's face, lever to get out of Krym, why not? Especially if the Major FA's pull out of FIFA which isn't that unlikely now....

It costs Bernie a fortune to stay above reproach, not as much as it would if he were honest but still a lot of money.

I guess it's fairly expensive to get away with being that corrupt.

The whole corruption in football question does rather smack of "is the Pope a Catholic? do bears crap in the woods?" type of questions.

There's so much money in top flight football it's a given that it's benter than a very bent thing.

Cannot argue with that - no one in the right mind could ever consider that Qatar got the WC without vote rigging and corruption.

Problem is due to what you say and also the time difference it will be a huge flop....

Football will not be a winner on that day.

Even Ukraine don't want Crimea back, it's 95% russian - always has been, people don't want to go back, it's only the west and the press

It's Tatar originally and was stolen by Russia (originally) from Turkey.

Doesn't matter anyway.

What is surprising is that they can not find a whistle-blower anywhere

No, as the French never invaded us back then. You're thinking of Vikings who had lived in France for a short while.

Blatter was always going to win. He knows too much about them all.

If/when he goes down, he will take the whole lot with him.

I love this:

Blatter told Swiss TV on Friday: “Why would I step down? That would mean I recognise that I did wrong."

I suspect its to do with the allegations today to do with South Africa and Blatter denying it then the AP producing a letter stating that they did receive 10m from SA :laugh

There's also been rumours of a break-in. Alledgedly they've stolen the winners of the next two world cups.

Not surprising. The journalist who's been pursuing this for ages tweeted the other day that the FBI had acted on documents and information he'd supplied, and that others, "including Blatter", were also in the firing line. TBH, I'd expected Blatter to be arrogant enough to stay until he was actually arrested, but after reading that it seemed clear that he certainly will be before too long.

Next up: F1?

FIFA boss Sepp Blatter gives £342m contract to his nephew | UK | News | Daily Express (http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/148233/FIFA-boss-Sepp-Blatter-gives-342m-contract-to-his-nephew)

I am sure that Blatter's nephew will keep the hospitality contract from FIFA worth millions as it was nothing to do with his uncle that this contract was awarded.

Generally I hate the American justice system for its overseas reach. However I hope that Blatter is extradited. Preferably to Guantanamo Bay.
