Anyone bought an Eve mattress, or other memory foam mattress?

I have to buy three king size mattresses, and am toying with the idea of Eve mattresses

But a quick search located a Telegraph article on these which has me slightly worried now.

Does their quality match all the hype, or is this some marketing gimmick?

Failing that, can anyone recommend a decent quality memory foam mattress for under about £600 ? I gather some of them are seriously overpriced.

(I wonder if this really belongs in Technical, but I'll take my chances here ...)

    Relaxsan Waterlattex mattress

We've had the king sized one at home for ages, and I bought one for the spare room at my parents because the old mattress there used to cause me all sorts of back issues.

    Other vendors are available.

Yes, and they're fecking warm too. Great in winter but I found it unbearable in the summer.

So the diet's not going too well then........

Back in helpful mode, I've heard the memory foam ones are too hot too, something about the way they fit your contours increasing the contact area.

We had a memory foam mattress for a while, and it's a love / hate thing. I found them too soft and we both agreed they were far too warm in summer.

We've gone down the route of a firmer sprung mattress with a mem foam topper on it. Seems to be a good solution so far.

Buy normal mattresses and then memory foam mattress toppers for around £100 each.

My friend bought a mattress recently for about £1000, he said it's the best mattress he's ever had and that he's now able to sleep for more than 4-5 hours a night.

I personally think a good mattress is well worth the money as they last a good while.

Paid over a grand for our mattress in the hope that it would sort my back out. Back is a bit better, but no idea whether that's mattress related or not!
