    Just out of interest does anyone know of a situation where professional indemnity insurance has actually been claimed by a clientco.

    £2-5 mil cover for £300ish you do the math how likely it is for a claim to occur...

        Not for IT contractors.

        Tradesmen get lots of claims hence their insurance costs more.

          P = (X*N/M) = 0.1%

          ... on the basis that the majority of claims will be rejected and those that succeed will be for significantly less than the maximum cover.
