    Your first contract

Just like our first love, we never forget our first contract

What was the role and the rate?

Also, what salary were you on when you jumped from permieland?

For me it was a UX Researcher role, £175 a day fresh out of uni so no jump from permieland.

Jumped from a 50k perm job in Slough to a £500pd contract in an investment bank in London.

          Ha, kids today!

My first contract was in 1977 on a rate of £120 per week. A big jump from a salary of £3600 a year.

1999, moved from permie in London on around £30k to contract in Dublin on £46 per hour. Lovely client, I used to work early & late Monday to Thursday and take off on Fridays for a long weekend. Good old days!!!
