    Someone Tell Davie and Georgie

Tax sugary drinks by 20%, say doctors - BBC News

This tax would be completely voluntary, paid only by those who choose to buy the product. It would be spread widely, sharing the burden among millions, raise more than the dividend tax, and coincidentally save the NHS a lot of money. It would also be "green" because it would mean fewer Coke bottles littering the roadside. And it has medical approval, so it would already have the nanny state seal of acceptance.

    What's not to like?

Well it seems like a good idea in theory.....

Apparently Obesity costs the NHS 6 Billion a year - which apparently is more than Alcohol,, Tobacco and Inactivity combined...

I am not sure that is true...

Having said that as a smoker it is nice to see someone else paying the bill for all the fat idle fe<kers out there.

My only concern is that some "parents" can only afford to feed their children cheap sugary drinks and food.

They spend their money on fags, booze, mobile phones, Sky etcetera. instead.

      Though such scum need sterilising.

And the children given to parents who will feed them properly.
