Global Warming is costing lives

Wadhams is a bit 'out there' both in his science (Arctic ice projections way more pessimistic than virtually anyone else) and apparently in his paranoia.
But death threats are nothing new. The issue de jour amongst the global warming chattering classes is an accusation of identity theft by sceptic Lubos Motl against John Cook. Cook is Climate Communication Fellow for the Global Change Institute at the University of Queensland (known here sometimes as 'that cartoonist' because that's how he briefly made a living after graduation). As part of an experiment in climate communication Cook set up a model website in a closed forum and created some dummy posts under names of well known names in the 'debate', one of which was Motl's. The site was later hacked and Motl is now getting all indignant about it, and the deniers are instructing their imaginary lawyers for an imaginary lawsuit
Motl is a genius in his own field, string theory, but sadly his expertise does not carry through to other disciplines, and he has some other personality traits, such as wishing people who disagree with him to be liquidated, which lost him his Harvard Professorship and also his credibility. A typical Motl comment:
I think that trash like yourself cannot be debated. It must be destroyed. What is written on the “climate denial” page is just crime, the people who are responsible for it are criminals, and as soon as I get the opportunity to collaborate with someone on their liquidation, I will do it.'My subconscious is annoying. It's got a mind of its own. -

Anyway thanks for that, that's something important to note when he's quoted.I'm alright JackComment

I have been saying for years that pj will slowly but surely, argument by argument, come around to the truth.
Now he agrees that an eco-loon, who predicted that the arctic ice would be gone this year, is, in fact, a bit of a loon.
well done that man!(\__/)
