what about a little glass indicator, colour coded to indicate the stinkiness ? It could contain f@rt-gas sentised chemicals that change colour.
Green = safe to enter
Red = Respirator only
Amber = It's one of yours so it's ok

Hmm, I will have to get my lawyers to check that you aren't breaching any patents on the Bacchus "I'd give it a minute" timer - bascially a 60 second timer, like a wind-up egg timer, mounted on the privy door. If you know you've done a smelly one you come out and wind it to a minute, if it's very bad you might want to give it two, or even three, but until it goes "ping" it's enter at your own risk!
